Mr and Miss World Kenya named

Franklin Osiyo and Wavinya Mariah rose above over 200 contestants to be crowned as Mr and Miss World Kenya in a star studded ceremony on Saturday night at The Two Rivers Mall. The two walked home with Sh 500,000 each and now gear up to represent the country at a global level. Wavinya will travel to London for the Miss World finals on December 14 while Osiyo will compete in The Mr World finals next year.

“I am grateful to all the people who made the event possible. I definitely do not take it for granted,” said Terry Mungai the Mr and Miss World franchise holder. Suzie Wokabi, Mike Mondo, Big Ted, Magline Jeruto and Carmen Gutierrez were the judges. The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Margaret Kobia, her Chief Administrative Secretary Rachael Shebesh as well as Devolution Principal Secretary Josephta Mukobe. There were performances by Khaligraph Jones and Moji Short Baba. Comedian Obinna and Angela Muiruri were the emcees. Obinna got himself another job after Rachael Shebesh asked him to host all government events organized by her ministry.
