Pulse Music Video Awards launch
The fifth edition of the Pulse Music Video Awards (PMVA) will officially be launched on Tuesday,6 October Pulser can confidently report. This years edition promises to be bigger and better than the past four years. The awards are named after Pulse Magazine which is the oldest and the longest running entertainment magazine in Kenya, the magazine will be turning 16 in December. The inaugural awards were held five years ago at the IMAX 20th century then Serena hotel before they went to Carnivore Simba Salon. Last year Trademark Hotel played host and this year’s venue will be an upgrade according to the organizers.
The awards have been all about glitz and glamour with fashion trends and styles being the major highlights in the red carpet moment that gets photographers busy as they compete to get their best shot. Throughout the years, 2018 stands as the most successful with as a record of 1,849 SMS votes and Nikita Kering, 16, becoming the youngest Artiste ever to be honored. The year also saw 1,500 entries and 40 artistes fought it out in the 10 categories.The most competitive category has been the video vixens, last year it was won by Hasni Shah and before that Eve Wanjiru who won back to back.
The submission will be open from tomorrow and will run till November, 10. The videos submitted should have been produced between November 2018 and October 2019. The gala which is slated for December will be streamed on KTN Home.
