Duane Stephenson, Daville in Nairobi

Moh Spice Entertainment and Across Solutions presents the ‘Let Love Reign’ concert featuring for the first time in Nairobi Duane Stephenson and Always on My Mind hit-maker Daville at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre tomorrow night. The two Jamaican acts share the stage with Kenya’s very own Wyre, Talia, MC Philipo, TearGas, Moh, Gravitti, Iklektic and Churchill among others. Gate charges are Sh2,000 and Sh5,000 VIP. 

Friday Fusion at Club da Place

The Friday Fusion is back at Club da Place tonight with DJ Daggy holding the decks at the Mamboleo, Kisumu, spot. Tomorrow is the Ultimate Saturday night with Kisumu’s finest VJ Slim and Sunday will be the popular Kikao Sunday with DJ Ves. The Kikao Sunday, which will be hosted by Makenzi will see customers get free ‘mbuzi’ and ‘kuku choma’ as well as free chasers on all full bottles of whiskey purchased. Mr and Miss JKUAT at Tree House

Timmy T-Dat will be among the stars slotted to perform during the annual Mr and Miss JKUAT Nairobi CBD event expected to take place at Tree House, Museum Hill, tomorrow night. The dress code is African wear with the theme being ‘Embracing African Culture’. The MC of the night will be Austine Muigai.

International Laugh Festival

The International Laugh Festival is at the centre of the entertainment calendar at Kenyatta International Convention Centre tonight with performances from UK’s Njambi McGrath, Rwanda’s Arthur Nkusi, Agnes Akite and Salvador from Uganda alongside Kenya’s Eric Omondi, Mammito, MC Jessy, Sleepy David, Prof Hamo, MCA Tricky and Churchill. Charges for regular are Sh1,000, Sh2,000 VIP and Sh5,000 VVIP. 

Sarafina the Musical

After last year’s sold-out show, the Nairobi Performing Arts Studio restages the South African musical Sarafina culminating this weekend at the Kenya National Theatre. The show is based on the original film written in 1992 which tells the story of a young black student struggling to fight apartheid in South Africa. It stars Sheila Munyiva from Oscar Nominated film Rafiki, Mkamzee Mwatela from Mali and Lusala, Martin Githinji from Sue na Johnnie, the wonderful Hellen Mtawali plus a cast of 40 and a live orchestra. Charges are Sh1,500. 

Talanta Mtaani auditions

It’s all systems go for the fourth season of the nationwide talent search show that is Talanta Mtaani. The platform showcases talent and aims to train the contestants through its PIMA training programme where participants sharpen their wits on life skills and education. The Nairobi auditions goes down at the MGM Studio throughout this weekend. 

Chipukeezy comedy show

Chipukeezy Foundation in conjunction with the KFCB presents the Chipukeezy Comedy Show at Nairobi Cinema tomorrow evening featuring fast rising acts namely Kartelo, Tipsy, Coolkid, Amaka, Nyokafi, Koima, Maketh, Kadusko, Mulamwa and Lyvia among others. Entry is Sh300. 

Tapas Fifth Anniversary

Pilani Bubu Live

Music concert series Thursday Nite Live by Roots International presents South Africa’s singer, songwriter and RnB sensation Pilani Bubu in its first edition for the month of August at J’s Fresh Bar and Restaurant this coming Thursday. There is no cover charge. 

Gilad, Tetu at the Elephant

Going down this and every Friday, enjoy a unique concert series courtesy of Live at the Elephant in Lavington as it hosts the legendary Eric Wainaina and Friends. The edition this time presents a triple threat show of Ciano Maimba, Tetu Shani and Eric Wainaina. It’s Sh600 per person and Sh2,500 for a group of five people. 

Circus - Glow in the Dark
